March 2008 I was asked to make Shemane Nugent a necklace as a thank you for what her and her husband Ted Nugent had done for a fundraiser.

Necklace I made for Shemane Nugent (Musician, Ted Nugent's wife)
Shemane Nugent sent the following note:
Dear Linda:
Yes, I loved the necklace and especially the meaning behind it.  Thank you so much. I apologize for not getting back with you sooner. Blessings,  Shemane Nugent

My Story

So I can post it to inspire others.

Read the story
  about giving Governor Sarah Palin
the necklace she is wearing here.

This is a testimony from a young girl and her mother
who I was blessed to make a special necklace for.

While doing a local art exhibit, a woman approached me
inquiring if I make custom necklaces.
We began to talk about her story and I was definitely interested.
She explained to me how she wanted to give her daughter something special
 with a special meaning.
She had already got her daughter a purity ring and wanted a necklace
to match it in some way.
She was drawn to the century old knot pendants. Explaining the
representation of strength and endurance over time,
relating it to purity for her daughter. I was touched by her vision.
While creating this custom piece I pondered on a verse.
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young,
but set an example for the believers in speech, in live,
in faith, in purity. 1Timothy4:2 NIV
I put this verse in her gift box with the necklace.
I was excited to be a part of this and I told her I would love to hear back
from her after she gives the necklace to her daughter.
A few months later I received this e-mail.

Well mom said that I could send the information for her so here it is.
On my tenth birthday mom drove me to town to pick up a
custom made purity ring with my initials on it.
It also had three small squares of turquoise in it.
Mom had told me it was going to be a special gift
for my first year with double digits.
Other than that I did not know what I was getting until I saw it.
The ring was meant to grow with me --it started out on my thumb
now it is on my pointer. Mom and I talked about what  the ring represented
on the way home. My sister who just had her tenth birthday also got a ring
hers has flowers on it and she got it at home. Mom and her also had their special
talk. Mom plans to do this with each of her four children though the
boys might get something different like a belt buckle
or something more to their liking than a ring.
Now, for the necklace-
when we stopped at your place in the tent this summer mom asked me
if I liked the jewelry. I said I did and kind of suspected something was up.
On our thirteenth birthday mom wants to give us each a reminder gift.
Mine was the necklace. I was very exited to see it
and liked that it had turquoise like my ring.
Mom told me that I didn't need to wear this gift all the time,
but she hoped I wore it often.
She also said to wear it without fear of losing it
and that she wouldn’t be mad if I did.
After all, this was a gift that she wanted me to wear!
We talked about how the knot represented being strong and that
purity makes a marriage stronger. Mom also told me that every three years
she was going to try to get another reminder gift for each of us.
Well I guess that pretty much sums it up.

This is Mom now... I just feel very strongly that purity is important
and our "world" does not put a proper Godly perspective one it.
I feel strong enough about it that I don't think a
one time "talk" or gift is enough.
I feel that I need to give it value in my child's eyes.
I also know that it will be a blessing
to my children's' marriages if they choose to marry
.
                                                      Name kept confidential

Mom sent me a picture of her daughter wearing the necklace at a
church service.  Words can not describe how deeply touched I was
by being chosen to be a part of this little girls life in even the tiniest way.
It was perfectly orchestrated and I am in awe again
at how God uses me, or that he even would.

Tribute to my Dad
1930-2009

"Daddy's Little Girl"

My Dad is Fading
Today hit me harder than any other.
The reality of the inevitable,
The value of a single moment in time.
So blessed to have this time with him
Our talks will linger in my mind forever.
Today was different somehow
Dad had a peak of energy and wanted to dance
His body so weak but the mind still wanting to do so much
We swayed back and forth in a dance position
Then he twirled me just like when I was a little girl.
His face lit up….. he loved to dance.
I could not hold back the tears.
I gave him a big hug and told him I loved him.
He held me tight and softly spoke I love you too
He paused and finished with… I always have.
That memory will forever be on my heart and in my mind.
An interaction with my dad that was really my dad.
He is slipping away. Pieces of him fade in and out.
It’s hard to watch, my heart aches
Not for the process of life and death
It aches for the peace I want him to feel
It is now 1:00am as I finish this journal entry
The sound you don’t want to hear at a time like this
The phone pierces my mind and my heart
I knew what it was…I think I knew all day today
I can’t catch my breath and my heart is racing
as I hear the news that his breathing has ceased
My dad is at peace now
No more worries for his mind to ponder
The restlessness finally calmed
His failing body no longer a concern
He is in the Lord’s presence now & He has been made new
My heart now aches in a different way
Daddy’s little girl is still selfish inside
I want him here with me
I will miss you dad until I see you again
I love you… and I always have

Because I am daddy’s little girl.

Dad,  you always inspired me to follow my dreams.
"Do what you love to do" you said.
For that I will stay strong on this path despite "this world"
and what it says about success.
I am successful because I am doing what I love and I will let God take care of the rest.

In honor of my Dad, I will be dedicating
a portion of my business to outreach ministry
.

The first project I am taking on
